Co- founder of Nature explorers, Sofia is a qualified physical education (PE) and Early Childhood teacher with 11 years of experience in Europe and Australia. Sofia is a change maker, having implemented new curriculum approaches in Portugal and now in Australia. After moving to Australia, Sofia became captivated, potentially obsessed, with incorporating meaningful learning experiences in early childhood education from her research of UK and Scandinavian nature schools. Seeing endless possibilities in her natural environment, Sofia sought to incorporate and convince her colleagues that this area must be pursued. Sofia is now a consultant in, and coordinator of a fixed location and mobile nature school. When not following children’s interests in the bush, Sofia is off touring, sharing her experiences on her award winning outdoor lifestyle blog.
