Our 1-day Summit on Connecting to Nature in an Urban World, April 19, features a morning plenary and roundtable sessions followed by interactive workshops and walkshops in the afternoon. Building on the Summit is our Conference, April 20-21, featuring keynotes speakers, hands-on workshops and networking opportunities.

Steve Dunsmuir is a teacher in the Pender Ecological Education Community (PEEC) and was also the founder and principal educator at the Saturna Ecological Education Centre (SEEC) high school program and the Middle Years Shared Ecological Education Community (MYSEEC) on Salt Spring Island. He has been an ecological educator for over 30 years, working and learning with people of all ages from preschool to teacher training at Simon Fraser University. He was EECOM’s “Most Outstanding K-12 Educator” a few years back and earned his Master of Environmental Education and Communication degree at Royal Roads University. He has six kids of his own and would like nothing better than to share ideas that will encourage young people to love and respect their places.
