Rosa Barcotti

North Vancouver School District
Strong Start Facilitator
With more than 30 years of experience in the field of education, I bring a wealth of diverse knowledge to my teaching career, having worked in nursery schools, daycares, with the Ottawa Board of Education and The North Vancouver School District, working with families and children from age zero to six, as a facilitator for the Strong Start Program. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Portuguese along with an Early Childhood Education (RECE) diploma. I have taught in many wonderful places along my career as an educator such as Brazil, Portugal and Canada, bringing an international perspective to my teaching style as well as languages including English, Portuguese and Spanish. As a committed professional, I was part of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) implementation team, I was one of the first educators in the board responsible for developing and delivering an outdoor education program for my full day kindergarten class. I always been drawn to teaching and working with students of all ages and I continue my ongoing education through various workshops and courses as they relate to my interests and teaching. Following my passion for the environment and outdoor education , I received a Level 3 Forest School Practitioners Certification a couple of years ago and now I collaborate with other educators in Outdoor Programs in the West Coast and in Ottawa.
