Families in Nature
Deputy Director
Austin, Texas Area
Jennifer Evans is the Deputy Director of Families in Nature, a non-profit whose mission is to connect children and their families to nature and to each other through time spent learning, playing and volunteering outdoors. She founded and organizes Nature Playdate to gather Austin-based families with young children to explore nature in their city. Through these organizations, she works to give children meaningful experiences in nature and to support a vibrant community of nature families. Her own love of nature was launched by camping from the back of her parents’ baby blue 1970s Econoline camper van, and she now shares it with her own three wild children and her community. Jennifer is a graduate of Duke University’s Environmental Science & Policy Program and the University of Chicago Law School.
