British Columbia is her home.
To Jaime, Urban Environmental Education is the practice of hands-on, personalized learning in interactive settings that extend beyond the walls of formal institutions. It is responsive to unique, individual needs in order to create rich and meaningful learning experiences. The purpose is to foster problem-solving action which arises from caring and informed relationships in students’ natural and cultural communities for the advancement of global citizenship.
Branching out from her passions and past experiences in outdoor recreation, urban gardens and writing, Jaime is currently researching arts integration in environmental education, and creative techniques for multicultural and multilingual settings. She is completing her practicum with Islandwood's Urban Schools Program.
