Our 1-day Summit on Connecting to Nature in an Urban World, April 19, features a morning plenary and roundtable sessions followed by interactive workshops and walkshops in the afternoon. Building on the Summit is our Conference, April 20-21, featuring keynotes speakers, hands-on workshops and networking opportunities.

Please note: Schedules are now locked from being changed. If you would like to make changes to your schedule, please come see us at the registration desk. See you in Vancouver!

Be sure to stop by one of these events available through out the conference.

Pop-Up Park
Everyone is encouraged to come out and play or simply hang at the water’s edge at the end of a busy, fun filled conference day! Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds will transform a pristine, blank canvas of grass into a full sensory play experience for local children and conference goers. This nature play pop up will be located between the Westin Bayshore Conference Center and Stanley Park, at Devonian Park. Mulch, soil, stumps, hay bales, sticks and stones, will be the building blocks of an outdoor classroom and teaching space for Adam Bienenstock (Founder of Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds) and Rusty Keeler (Founder of Earth Play) during the conference.

Early Childhood Resource Hub - Open House
Network, share resources, and inform the development of a common agenda for helping young children connect to nature and care for the environment. Stop by the Coquitlam Room anytime on Wednesday, April 19, or Thursday, April 20, to pick up or drop off information about early childhood resources, share your interests or needs with other conference participants on the Early Childhood Message Board, and add your location and contact information to the Early Childhood Network Map.

Exhibit Halls
During your time at CNC 2017, be sure to make some time to explore the exhibit halls where representatives from nature centers, book publishers, documentary films, play companies and more from the US, Canada and around the globe are ready to help you discover programs, products and services that can support your work connecting children to nature.

Celebrate #NatureForAll!
All conference participants are invited to a nature-inspired event in celebration of the recently launched IUCN #NatureForAll movement. This fun-filled evening is the perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with conference participants and invited guests in a fun and relaxed setting. Join us for light snacks and drink, great dance music as well as themed hands-on nature and cultural activities for all to enjoy.

You won’t want to miss it! #NatureForAll is a global movement to inspire love of nature. At its core is a very simple idea: the more that people experience, connect with, and share their love of nature, the more support and action there will be for nature's conservation.
