C&NN 2017 International Conference and Summit

Our 1-day Summit on Connecting to Nature in an Urban World, April 19, features a morning plenary and roundtable sessions followed by interactive workshops and walkshops in the afternoon. Building on the Summit is our Conference, April 20-21, featuring keynotes speakers, hands-on workshops and networking opportunities.

Desmond Nolan is a principal of a grade 8-12 school in the community of Athabasca. His educational career began as a teacher in 2002. Besides teaching in the public system he is an active member of the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association teaching many outdoor related courses. Since childhood Des has been an avid outdoorsman. Growing up fishing , hunting, camping and trapping enhanced his love of nature and respect for animals and their environments. His adventures as a youngster has brought about his desire to introduce students to the outdoors. As an educator he ensures his students and family experience what our land has to offer.
