Addie Broussard

Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center
Program Manager
Austin, TX
Addie began connecting kids with nature in 2008 as a camp counselor at El Ranchito nature immersion camp. Her innate talent to teach natural sciences coupled with her immense passion and vast knowledge of the Texas Hill Country and made her a perfect fit for a career at Westcave. Addie started as an intern at Westcave in early 2010 where she helped facilitate weekday education programs and led guided tours on the weekends. Now as a full time employee, she continues to support Westcave in many ways – administratively, hands-on at the Preserve, and most recently as the Coordinator for the Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin. Addie’s role has also expanded at El Ranchito, where she still spends every June and is fondly known as “Chef Addie.” She is an active member of the local food community and enjoys cooking and gardening with friends, and can be found working at the farmer’s market every weekend. Addie earned her Associate’s Degree of Environmental Science and Applied Technology from Austin Community College and hopes to pursue her education further in biology, geo-sciences and outdoor education.
